Pittsburgh Gaming Expo was a blast!

Phew… it has been a busy week. Especially considering that i meant to make this post four days ago… Hey, better late than never. But regardless, Pittsburgh was a lot of fun! As always, thank you to everyone that stopped by and tried out the game. The feedback that you all give me is so helpful in helping me improve it more and more. Also another thank to all of the added steam wishlist’s.

I also wanted to give a shout out to my fellow devs that were at the convention.

South Scrimshaw – A cool visual novel game using a science fiction documentary about fictional science and an Alien Whale. It has gorgeous artwork and I highly recommend that you check it out!

A Snail’s Tale – A fun turn based RPG about fighting snails. It’s full of puns and fun game play mechanics. It brings me back to the days of playing Final Fantasy 1 but with a lot of improvements.

Anyway, back to work with me…. Hopefully, I will have more news about things soon!

Retro World is over!

Welp, another convention comes to a close. It was a little on the slow side, but what it lacked in quantity, it more than made up in quality. All the people that stopped by to check out the booth were super awesome and supportive. Some even had very helpful feedback to offer!

Also a super special shout out to my vendor neighbors (in no particular order):

Fae – https://www.edenparktales.com/
A self published and very fun TTRPG where you play the monsters just trying to survive!

Retro Casual – https://retrocasual.com/
A game developer of a bunch of very fun games that I had the privilege to try.

Star Punch Studios – http://starpunchstudios.com/
A developer making a super fun Puyo Puyo like game.

Dennel Cake – https://www.dennelcake.com
An independent video game company that has made a few game, but the one I played was a cool high speed beat em up.

Unstable Studio – https://www.instagram.com/unstablestudioarts/
An artist making comics and photography!

I hope to see any and all of them in the future! Hopefully I’ll have some fun game news in the near future.

-Stay tuned!

Retro World and Other Conventions

Hi All, Retro World is coming up in a week and a half. If you’re from the Connecticut area, stop by and say. Maybe even give the game a try.

Additionally, I just submitted to Magfest 2025. But I am nervous, the Demo is admittedly not too much different than last years. Mostly just performance updates so I don’t know if I will get in. With any luck I’ll be there but with a much improved table presentation.

In a flash it was done!

Well this weekend was a blur. But it was really great. Got to see some amazing indie games being made. As well as catch up with some friends and see how far their games have come along!

Sliced Kiwi Studios with Chess X Mate.

And Game Joy with Chroma Quest.

But thank you to everyone on the MVIS staff. They were super helpful! And thank you to everyone who played the demo!

Oh, also the final tallies with which cards did the best were:
Kodoku: 33
Block: 30
Schaden: 19
David: 18

Looks like Kodoku is the popular boy!

Magfest incoming & other news!

Hi All! I hope everyone’s new year is treating the well so far. As always, I am hard at work trying to get things ready for Mag Fest. It’s only a week away, yikes! The good news is that at least I am on track for that.

But here’s the kind of bad news. The Kickstarter is being postponed for a while. I wanted the game to be relatively past a certain level of completion before I started looking for outside funding. I wanted to do it this way in order to be able to keep to some semblance of a release window. However, due to a pretty severe memory bug that I discovered, it set me back a few months. The silver lining is that it was discovered now and I am reasonably certain that it is squashed. But between it just being me working on this project as well as life and work always being a thing, it took a few months to tackle it.

Now that I am hopefully fully past that issue, I can return to creating new areas, music, skills and what not. As well as do all the work needed to prepare for a successful launch of the Kickstarter campaign. My target is August, let’s just hope I can succeed in getting that done. Regardless, I am sorry for all of the delays in both the Kickstarter and regular updates. I hope to fix both of these things in the coming year.

In the meantime, expect to see some posts for Mag fest in the next week! Thanks for stopping by and Stay tuned for more!
