What a Convention!

Too Many Games may have been the best convention I have ever done. Don’t get me wrong, they have all been great, but between the fellow devs that I met, the amazing staff, and all of the amazing attendees that stopped by to try the game, I was blown away.

I’m sad that I didn’t have time to try everyone’s games, It seemed that all of the other devs felt the same. We were all swamped. The few that I did get to try were excellent. In no particular order:

Mech Tech – a game that lives comfortably between an RTS and a moba, and brings the best from both of those genres.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2302340/Mech_Tech/

Oddware – a sci-fi visual novel about android in space. I only got to play a small portion but it was intriguing and very entertaining with fun and engaging characters.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1796890/Oddware/

Nixie – A metroidvania style game. Good exploration and controls. And a bright and colorful look that brings all of the nostalgia of the Sega CD era with plenty of modern flair.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2584810/Nixie/

Deluge – A fellow RPG Maker User. Making a very unique game where you are a minion brought back to life by the big bad, and you get to choose whether to follow orders and kill the people of this world deny your master and find a path to redemption.

Pixel Nior – A turn based RPG where you play a grizzled detective. It’s got a very gorgeous detailed isometric view point and cool mechanics. The story is quite engaging as well. Plus, it’s already released!
https://store.steampowered.com/app/754320/Pixel_Noir/

Shred the Undead – A love letter to the Gauntlet series but you’re a rock band. A lot of fun and creative with the special moves. And its already released as well!

Hook Line and Sniper – A fun shoot everything game where you are a fish……. with a sniper rifle. Its a wonderfully ridiculous premise that is wildly entertaining. Also released!

But the best thing to happen. Someone Cosplayed Panik!!!!! Thank you Johanna! (I hope I spelled that right) You have no idea how amazing that was to see!

I hope everyone else that went had as great of a time as I did! And I hope to see you all soon!

March Madness!

It has been a busy month since my last post. A new area of the game is almost complete. I added a new simple but effective feature for the battle system, integrated a few quality of life features for the overall game, as well as completed a number of items on my development to do list. We are just about 40% done with the whole game. That is hefty increase in productivity over the past year. And hopefully that continues to speed up.

Also, I’ll be showing the game at two new conventions! Thy Geekdom Con on May 23-25 and Too Many Games on June 27 – 29. Both of them in Oaks, PA. I hope that I get to see some of you there!

Talk to you soon!

Pittsburgh Gaming Expo was a blast!

Phew… it has been a busy week. Especially considering that i meant to make this post four days ago… Hey, better late than never. But regardless, Pittsburgh was a lot of fun! As always, thank you to everyone that stopped by and tried out the game. The feedback that you all give me is so helpful in helping me improve it more and more. Also another thank to all of the added steam wishlist’s.

I also wanted to give a shout out to my fellow devs that were at the convention.

South Scrimshaw – A cool visual novel game using a science fiction documentary about fictional science and an Alien Whale. It has gorgeous artwork and I highly recommend that you check it out!

A Snail’s Tale – A fun turn based RPG about fighting snails. It’s full of puns and fun game play mechanics. It brings me back to the days of playing Final Fantasy 1 but with a lot of improvements.

Anyway, back to work with me…. Hopefully, I will have more news about things soon!

Retro World is over!

Welp, another convention comes to a close. It was a little on the slow side, but what it lacked in quantity, it more than made up in quality. All the people that stopped by to check out the booth were super awesome and supportive. Some even had very helpful feedback to offer!

Also a super special shout out to my vendor neighbors (in no particular order):

Fae – https://www.edenparktales.com/
A self published and very fun TTRPG where you play the monsters just trying to survive!

Retro Casual – https://retrocasual.com/
A game developer of a bunch of very fun games that I had the privilege to try.

Star Punch Studios – http://starpunchstudios.com/
A developer making a super fun Puyo Puyo like game.

Dennel Cake – https://www.dennelcake.com
An independent video game company that has made a few game, but the one I played was a cool high speed beat em up.

Unstable Studio – https://www.instagram.com/unstablestudioarts/
An artist making comics and photography!

I hope to see any and all of them in the future! Hopefully I’ll have some fun game news in the near future.

-Stay tuned!

Retro World and Other Conventions

Hi All, Retro World is coming up in a week and a half. If you’re from the Connecticut area, stop by and say. Maybe even give the game a try.

Additionally, I just submitted to Magfest 2025. But I am nervous, the Demo is admittedly not too much different than last years. Mostly just performance updates so I don’t know if I will get in. With any luck I’ll be there but with a much improved table presentation.
